Conductivity Type Level Switch: A Cost-Effective Solution for Liquid Level Control

FLOWTECH Conductivity Type Level Switches are engineered for precise level detection and control in a variety of scenarios, from tank level management to pump and process protection.

These switches are optimized for electrically conductive liquids, including water, beverages, lye solutions, acids, and graphite-based solutions. Our switches are available in top-mounting and external cage top-mounting configurations, delivering reliable performance and cost-effective solutions.

The operation of Conductivity Type Level Switches is based on conductive electrodes that detect the liquid level when they come into contact with the liquid.

A low adjustable resistance ensures that alternating current flows between the ground (earth) and the electrode. This current is detected by a signal conditioning instrument and processed into a switching signal.

The switch point is determined by the length and mounting position of the appropriate electrode. In tanks or vessels with conductive walls, the tank or vessel wall serves as the ground electrode.

In cases where the tank or vessel is non-conductive (e.g., plastic, FRP, or rubber-lined), one of the electrodes serves as the conductive electrode.
