They are suitable for a wide range of applications, including water, saline water, air, N2, H2, and natural gases. Available in sizes ranging from 15 NB to 100 NB pipe size, these rotameters can handle flow rates between 30 to 80,000 LPH of water at ambient temperatures with an accuracy of ± 2% FSD. High and low flow switches can be incorporated on request, and various connection options, including flanged, screwed, hose nipple, and TC joints, are available.

Acrylic Body Rotameters – Precise Flow Measurement with Transparent Clarity

FLOWTECH Acrylic Body Tube Variable Area Flow Meters (Rotameters) are designed for general in-line metering applications, catering to both gas and liquid measurements. These rotameters utilize acrylic body metering tubes to facilitate precise measurements. The principle behind their operation is Variable Area, where a float moves freely up and down a tapered acrylic body tube in response to the fluid flow, with upward buoyancy forces balancing the float’s weight in proportion to the flow rate. The vertical position of the float, as indicated by the scale, provides an instantaneous flow rate measurement.

The flow measurement in acrylic body rotameters is achieved through the following mechanism: When fluid or gas passes through a tapered tube with a float, it creates a pressure difference (P1 and P2) between the upper and lower sides of the float. The float moves upwards due to the force generated by multiplying the pressure differential by the maximum cross-sectional area of the float. The tapering of the metering tube is designed in such a way that the vertical movement of the float remains linearly proportional to the flow rate. The provided scale allows for the easy interpretation of the float’s position, delivering an accurate flow rate indication.
