Magnetic Deep Gauge: An Ideal Solution for Pressurized Tanks with Stored Gases in Liquid Form

Our Magnetic Deep Gauge, manufactured by FLOWTECH Measuring Instruments Private Limited, is designed for general in-line and by-pass metering applications, suitable for both gas and liquid measurements. It operates effectively within the limits of glass metering tubes to provide accurate flow rates.

This robust glass tube Rotameter consists of a tapered tube with a float inside. The float is pushed up by fluid flow and pulled down by gravity, allowing for precise measurement.

Key Features:

  • Designed for pressurized tanks with gases stored in liquid form.
  • Suitable for a range of gases, including EO, LPG, VCM, Anhydrous Ammonia, and others.
  • Utilizes an 8″ diameter magnetic float that moves over a 1″ NB (Nominal Bore) SS 316 pipe Sch 40.
  • For checking the level, simply remove the aluminum engraved strip, marked in centimeters and inches, slowly from the pipe. The strip will stop at one place due to the powerful magnetic float. The reading shown outside the gauge indicates the liquid level in the tank.
  • Available with end connections in flanged 1.5″ and above or 1.5″ NPT (National Pipe Thread) and above.
  • Available in lengths of up to 3 meters.

Working Principle: A Magnetic Deep Gauge is a measuring device that employs magnetic principles to determine the depth or thickness of ferromagnetic substances. It operates by using a magnetic field to attract a metal probe to the surface of the material being measured. The distance between the probe and the material’s surface is used to determine the depth. This gauge is specifically designed for measuring ferromagnetic materials like iron, steel, or other magnetic alloys, making it suitable for applications where precise measurements of metal component thickness, coatings, and welds are necessary.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQs about Magnetic Deep Gauge

Yes, Magnetic Deep Gauges are versatile and can be used on both flat and curved surfaces, as long as the surface being measured is ferromagnetic.

The main limitation of a Magnetic Deep Gauge is its dependence on ferromagnetic materials. It cannot provide accurate measurements for non-ferromagnetic or non-metallic materials. Surface conditions, coatings, and imperfections can also affect measurement accuracy.
